Solar rotation
This paper reviews current understanding of the internal rotation of the Sun. We summarise the outcome of the latest helioseismic measurements of the angular velocity profile, and review existing dynamical models of rotation in the convection zone and in the radiative zone beneath. Finally, we discuss preliminary results along a new line of investigation.
متن کاملSynthetic hydrogen spectra of prominence oscillations
Context. Prominence oscillations have been mostly detected using Doppler velocity, although there are also claimed detections by means of periodic variations in half-width or line intensity. However, scarce observational evidence exists about simultaneous detection of oscillations in several spectral indicators. Aims. Our main aim here is to explore the relationship between spectral indicators,...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of the Available Measured Global Solar Radiation in Iraq
In Iraq, solar radiation field measurements are available only for very limited locations such as some universities and research centers. This article reviews and compares the measured monthly averaged global solar radiation data for Iraqi provinces and cities available in the literature and studies over the internet especially Go...
متن کاملLong tailed trions in monolayer MoS2: Temperature dependent asymmetry and red-shift of trion photoluminescence spectra
Monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has emerged as an excellent 2D model system because of its two inequivalent, direct-gap valleys that lead to exotic bound and excited states. Here we focus on one such bound state, the negatively charged trion. Unlike excitons, trions can radiatively decay with non-zero momentum by kicking out an electron, resulting in an asymmetric trion photoluminescence ...
متن کاملLaboratory simulations of solar prominence eruptions*
Spheromak technology is exploited to create laboratory simulations of solar prominence eruptions. It is found that the initial simulated prominences are arched, but then bifurcate into twisted secondary structures which appear to follow fringing field lines. A simple model explains many of these topological features in terms of the trajectories of field lines associated with relaxed states, i.e...
